Mamaroneck’s Milton Mancias-Magana (10) splits the Hilton defense during Hilton’s 3-2 overtime win in the NYSPHSAA boys soccer Class AA semifinal at Middletown High School in Middletown on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
The rest of the first team
F – Milton Mancias-Magana, Mamaroneck: The senior helped the Tigers win the first Section 1 title in program history, finishing with 23 goals and eight assists. He was named all-state, all-region and All-American.

F – Bennett Leitner, Somers: He was either finishing through balls from D’Ippolito or setting his childhood friend up with crossing passes from the corner. The senior had 54 goals and 32 assists in four varsity seasons and was all-state and all region this fall.

F – Gianluca Ruggiero, Westlake: The speedy senior came up with 20 goals and 10 assists for the Wildcats, who captured the first Section 1 title in program history and made the state final four. He was named all-state.

MF – George Popovic, Yorktown: It was nearly impossible to knock the dangerous senior playmaker off the ball. He scored 23 goals and handed out 22 assists and was named all-state.

MF – Alejandro Londono, Mamaroneck: The senior provided stability as the Tigers worked new players into the lineup. He was a stopper who got the ball moving up the field in a hurry, finishing with nine assists from the back of the midfield.

MF – Ryan Bochenski, Eastchester: He was a physical presence on and off the ball who often got special attention on set plays. The senior finished with six goals and six assists for the Eagles, who narrowly lost in the Section 1 Class A final to Somers.

D – Jayden Green, Hamilton: The senior is a natural scorer whose sideline-to-sideline work on the back line helped the Red Raiders win a NYSPHSAA Class C title. In limited time up front, the all-state pick had 20 goals and four assists.

D – Dwyant Suazo, Carmel: He was perhaps the most dynamic defensive player in Section 1, locking down many of the best forwards in the section and keeping the Rams in play. The senior was part of a unit that gave up just 1.3 goals per game.

D – Luke Peltz, Scarsdale: The senior knew how to play the angles for a Raiders team that won a league title and posted 11 shutouts. Only rival Mamaroneck scored more than two goals against Scarsdale this season.

G – Vincent Repoulis, Mamaroneck: He made 157 saves and posted 10 shutouts for the Tigers, who won a Section 1 title. The senior was Superman in the postseason, making 14 saves against John Jay in the Class AA semis and seven in a 1-0 win over Scarsdale in the championship.

Coach of the year
Robert Segaloff, Hamilton: The Red Raiders only had three starters coming back from last season, but won another Section 1 Class C title before finding ways to survive a string of NYSPHSAA playoff matches. Hamilton celebrated a state title with a 1-0 victory over Maple Hill.
